Yaxley Hall is made available by the owner, Dominic Richards, on a limited basis throughout the year as an exclusive venue for weddings, receptions and celebrations. Our wedding butler Richard Orton is on hand throughout to ensure that each individual wedding at Yaxley is a completely bespoke and perfectly planned affair. Close to the Norfolk / Suffolk border, the Hall is easily reached by car or train, and for international guests, is close to Stansted and Norwich International Airport. DOMINIC RICHARDS Yaxley Hall is the home of Dominic Richards. Dominic found Yaxley Hall on a winters day in 2001 and immediately fell in love with its setting and quirky architecture. He subsequently began a painstaking refurbishment of the Hall as his home.Dominic's passion for bringing beautiful, modern and harmonious design to historic buildings is well known. His work on notable buildings including The Old Jewish Soup Kitchen (Spitalfields, London) and Maynards Sweet Factory (Brighton & Hove) has been featured in numerous books, news articles and on television. A former Trustee of HRH The Prince of Wales' Prince's Foundation, Dominic enjoys the challenge of renewing historic properties with contemporary flair. "I love sharing this exquisite country house as a place where you can declare your love and commitment to one another. I have tried to design my home with a harmonious blend of ancient and modern styles. RICHARD ORTON Richard Orton is Yaxley Hall's wedding butler. His role is to be involved in every stage of the planning, preparing and overseeing of weddings at the Hall. This extends from taking the initial booking, through advice on photographers, florists, local accommodation, choice of wine and cuisine, right through to actually managing the event on the day. His task is to make sure you feel completely supported and to take the pressure and stress out of the whole process, allowing you to enjoy fully the run up to your wedding. Richard's role is a very personal one, and it is key in making sure that each individual wedding at Yaxley is a completely bespoke affair. When it comes to the actual day of your wedding, you will be safe in the knowledge that everything has been perfectly planned and that you are in Richard's very capable hands.Richard initially joined Dominic as his personal assistant in 2001. Before that he was involved in managing catering for weddings for over 10 years, and he also ran his own very successful, up-market delicatessen in the West Country. The role of wedding butler allows him to combine his organisational skills with his love and passion for food, and is one that he greatly enjoys.
